Forbidden City
An imperial palace for twenty-four emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was built during 1368-1644. . It was forbidden to enter without special permission of the emperor, hence it's name "Forbidden city". Now known as the Palace Museum, it is to the north of Tiananmen Square.

Having been the imperial palace for some five centuries, it houses numerous rare treasures and curiosities. Listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987, the Palace Museum is now one of the most popular tourist attractions worldwide.

Terracotta warriors
Chinese workers digging a well in 1974 made a startling discovery: thousands of life-size terracotta figures of an army prepared for battle. Now called the Terracotta Army or Terracotta Warriors, the figures are located in three pits near the city of X'ian in China's Shaanxi province.

The Great Wall
In c. 220 B.C., under Qin Shi Huang, sections of earlier fortifications were joined together to form a united defence system against invasions from the north.

Construction continued up to the Ming dynasty (1368–1644), when the Great Wall became the world's largest military structure.

The Great Wall is one of the largest building construction projects ever completed. It stretches across the mountains of northern China, winding north and northwest of Beijing.

Li River
Li River is the soul of Guilin, and bears the fine epithet of "the finest scenery under heaven". The glamour of the Li River comes from not only the crystal clear water but also the uniquely shaped Karst hills, rice paddies, and bamboo groves lining the river.

Hong Kong
Hong Kong has developed from a small fishing village in the 1800s into a dynamic metropolis. Its colonial past goes hand in hand with its ancient Chinese traditions. Apart of all the city highlights, culture, shopping, and architectural delights, Hong Kong has many accessible beaches and natural sights for outdoor lovers.

Tiger Leaping Gorge
The spectacular Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of Asia's finest geological wonders and hiking high above the Yangzi River is the best way to experience it. China's snow-capped peaks, narrow winding trails and sublime views await those who make the trek.

Shanghai
Shanghai is a vital centre of economic, financial, international trade in East China. Also it is a popular destination for visitors to sense. A perfect blend of cultures, new skyscrapers and old Shikumen together draw the skyline of the city. Western customs and Chinese traditions intertwined and form Shanghai's culture.

Beijing
TAs one of the six ancient cities in China, Beijing is the heart and soul of politics and society throughout its long history. It is wonderful to explore the city's ancient past and exciting modern development.

Xian
Xian is the first of China's Four Great Ancient Capitals and played a very important part in Chinese history. Xian is characterized by and proud of its ancient heritage, and rightly so.

The immaculately restored and mighty city wall still dominates the center of the city, with traffic navigating through underpasses in its girth. Many modern buildings are in keeping with ancient style, especially the roofs.

Yangtze River
The Yangtze River (Changjiang), over 6,300 kilometers long, is the largest and longest river in China, and the third-longest in the world, next only to the Nile in northeast Africa and the Amazon in South America. The source of the Yangtze River lies to the west of Geladandong Mountain, the principal peak of the Tanggula Mountain chain in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, southwest of China. The river flows from west to east through provinces of Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui and Jiangsu as well as the city of Shanghai, finally emptying into the East China Sea. With plenty of rainfall all year round, the Yangtze River is named the golden watercourse.

The most impressive section of the river is the three Yangtze River gorges: Qutang Gorge, Wuxia Gorge and Xiling Gorge, collectively known as Sanxia, or the Three Gorges.
